Our son receiving the therapy he needed has been monumental in the change and growth he has made. Being able to communicate, finding more confidence, and hitting milestones show us there is no limit to his potential. Just seeing the change in our son has impacted our lives so much! Watching things begin to make sense and connections happen is amazing!

The ways that receiving speech and occupational therapies at Crow Therapies has impacted my child’s life are too many to list! Aside from having muscle weakness that makes everyday things like holding a pencil, buttoning up a shirt and gripping a toothbrush properly, John has autism and sensory processing disorder. Working on his personalized OT goals, has helped him achieve the ability to drawl a circle, bounce and catch a ball, put on his own socks and shoes, and so many other things I take for granted every day. The diligent OT staff have taught John how to regulate his body when he feels overwhelmed or extra sensitive to his surroundings. Not only have they taught him all these and so many more wonderful skills, but they’ve also given me tools (through coaching and home care plan) to care for John and support him in the best way possible.
The Speech-Language Pathologists are just as top-notch quality as the Occupational Therapists are at Crow Therapies. Finding the words to convey how great of an impact Crow Therapies speech department has made on John’s life and our families life is difficult! John had a huge vocabulary as a young toddler but Autism took away his voice….not literally as he can make a TON of noises. The best way to describe it is something came unplugged and his words stopped working. He has spoken minimal (less than 5) vocal words since the age of 2. Through their diligence, determination, and devotion to helping EVERY child achieve and arrive at the best of their individual abilities, Crow Therapies Speech-Language Pathologists have gone through the ordeal of requesting, trialing, and gaining approval from insurance companies for John to receive an AAC (Augmentative & Assistive Communication Speech Generating Device).
This SGD has allowed John to once again find his voice. While he still has no functional language that you or I could understand, coming from his physical voice, his SGD has become “his words.”
He uses them to let us know what movie he wants to watch, if he wants orange juice or water to drink, and that he needs more pretzels. He says “Momma, Daddy, I love you, thank you, and please.” All words that disappeared have come back. They sound a bit different, but he is saying what he wants and needs nonetheless.
While John still has a very long road ahead of him to become “fluent” with his speech device, Crow’s therapists are dedicated to furthering their education and understanding of how to help my child become the best that he can be.
Both OT’s and ST’s have welcomed any questions and concerns we feel we need to ask or address and have valued our (parents) opinions and made us feel a part of the team.
Now that John has begun to learn to express his desired favorites, I feel like Crow Therapies speech therapists have allowed (given us the tools) for me to get to know my son.
Now I know that he wants to eat his apples before the chicken nuggets and that he wants 7UP to drink instead of the apple juice in his cup. Now I know when he wants to be tickled and when I hear him “say” bye-bye with his device - I know he’s done and ready to go!
Our best day at Crow Therapies is EVERY day we get to be at Crow Therapies! The staff checking in, setting and confirming appointments, getting insurance approvals and the therapist themselves ALL have a passion for helping their clients. I appreciate their diligence in providing excellent care and service to our family.
Without Crow Therapies in Livingston, we’d have to drive over an hour (one way per visit) to receive the services we do now, and I doubt it would be served with the same commitment to excellence that we see here!
Thank you Crow Therapies! I sincerely mean it when I say y’all are a blessing to our family and we are so appreciative of the huge impact y’all have made in our life!

When Logan first began therapy at Crow Therapies he couldn’t pick up his food, rollover, swallow or chew properly. Since receiving therapy he is now able to do all these things and more. It has been such as blessing to see Logan do what he should be able to do at his age. It has made life more enjoyable and easier knowing he can be more independent. One of my best memories is the day he walked around the entire clinic letting everyone know he could finally walk! I cried with tears of joy!

Our son was born with hydrocephalus, cerebral palsy, epileptic seizures, and cortical vision impairment. We were told there was not much hope of him being able to learn, walk, speak, and enjoy life. After spending months in NICU we finally came home with a feeding tube, feeling overwhelmed, and tired. We quickly began the process of seeking therapy. Early in his life, we began traveling back and forth to Houston for Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy services. Once Crow Therapies opened we quickly transitioned to the clinic and have been so thankful we no longer have to spend hours on the road! We have loved watching Andrew make gains and achieve success. Thanks to the hard work of dedicated therapists at Crow Therapies and home programs he is now able to independently walk (with braces), assists with dressing himself, loves to talk, plays the drums (with one hand) unless he is using the adaptive device his OT made him and enjoys being around people. Yes, we still have some obstacles to overcome, but we try not to focus on where we need to get to and reflect on all the gains both great and small and remain thankful for every day we are given!
